Description
A wonderful pair of antique German bisque head dolls marked 478, dressed in handmade Tyrolean costumes. The girl doll is marked 478 3/0 and has blue set eyes with upper and lower painted lashes and feathered brows, an open mouth with top teeth, and black hair. The boy doll is marked 478 2/0 and has brown set eyes with upper and lower painted lashes and feathered brows, an open mouth with teeth, pierced ears, and black hair. Both dolls are on composition jointed bodies and are nicely dressed, with the girl wearing a lace inset blouse with a hand stitched wool apron, velveteen skirt, and leather shoes with string over knit stockings, and the boy wearing a tan shirt with a velvet jacket and velvet pants, leather boy purse, leather shoes with strings over knit stockings, and a black hat. It measures approximately 11" H and 12" H. No cracks or repairs to heads, but both dolls could use restringing. The girl has one finger repair on the left hand, and the hands are on backwards. The boy is missing one finger.
