Marz February Premier Toy Auction
Lot 281:
Description
Hubley Lindy cast iron airplane in orange and black with the original sticker still affixed to the tail. This toy depicts Charles Lindbergh and his wife in the 1930 Lockheed 8 Sirius, renowned for their record-breaking non-stop U.S. trip in 14 hours and 45 minutes. In original condition with some wear: one tire is missing, the rear landing gear strut is broken, and the fuselage top is loose. Features a spinning propeller with a pull cord eyelet and proper gold highlights. A rare find due to its pull toy fragility and expense. Wingspan approximately 10", length 8.5".
