Marz February Premier Toy Auction
Lot 320:
This is a J. & E. Stevens No. 331 “William Tell” mechanical bank. The bank operates by placing a coin on the barrel of William’s rifle and pressing his right foot. When his foot is depressed, the rifle shoots the apple off the boy Walter Tell’s head. As the coin enters the castle, it strikes a bell, and according to the catalog, a cap can be fired at the same time. This fully working bank includes the trap door and measures approximately 10 ½” L x 3 ¾” W x 6 ¾” H.
