Pre-Transformers Toys Fortress Robot X by Takara of Japan. This early 1980s toy was never released in the United States and is made with diecast, steel, plastic, and magnetic drivers. The toy consists of a transforming robot that turns into a base with chutes and magnetic parts. Tin lithography is used in spots to allow the drivers to stick. This exact toy was featured in an extensive video review on YouTube. The toy stands at over 16" tall and is complete, with directions and the toy catalog. Stickers are unapplied. The box measures approximately 16" L x 7" W x 6" H. The robot expands to nearly 16" tall and is considered the most deluxe and elaborate Diaclone, Microman, and early Transformers toy of its time.
