Spring Toy Auction Extravaganza
Cast iron mechanical "Jolly N" bank by Shepard Hardware Co., Buffalo, NY. This vintage bank features a lever-operated mechanism where a coin placed in the hand is deposited as the eyes roll and the tongue moves aside. This bank has been tested and works. The base is marked "Made By Sheppard Hardware Buffalo NY" (very worn). Stands approximately 6 3/4" tall. A classic example of 19th-century mechanical banks.
