Description
This is a Unique Art ca. 1940s tin lithographed windup “Li’l Abner and His Dogpatch Band” toy featuring Abner and the Dogpatch family gathered around a piano. When wound by its dedicated key and switched on, Abner dances, Pappy plays the drums, Mammy leads the band with her baton, and Daisy Mae plays the piano. It includes a working stop/start slider on the side, and all parts and connections are secure and functional. Abner and Grandma both have clean faces. This is considered one of the nicest tin windup toys in terms of action. Manufactured by Unique Art, circa 1949. This is approximately 9.5" L x 5" W x 8.5" H.
