This is a Marx No. 4744 Battle of the Blue & Gray Playset. This set followed the Giant Blue and Gray and the Centennial Civil War playsets. The building (which resembles the Appomattox Court House) has been assembled, tabs intact, Grecian columns are yellowed and show chipping on one side. Includes original instructions, original box inserts, play mat battleground, and bridge. The box measures approximately 29" L x 15" W x 4.5" H. We believe it to be complete, but we are not sure. It includes 1 blue cot | 3 pup tents | 1 tent | 1 Union flag w/base | 2 rock berms | 4-horse caisson and cannon | 2 trees | 3 brown horses | 1 blue stretcher | 1 hand Union flag | 2 gray berms | the destroyed mansion | the large firing mortar | the exploding bunker | 50 blue Union soldiers | 4 white figures (Grant, Lee, 2 Lincolns) | 1 white surrendering rider | 1 white balking horse | 1 brown trench part of destroyed mansion | 1 small firing black cannon | 2 black horses | 1 Confederate flag w/base | 1 gray stretcher | 2 dark gray berms | 4 wood fences | 50+ cannon balls and accessories | 50 gray Confederate soldiers.
