Description
This is a wooden advertising display cabinet for Putnam Fadeless Dyes made by the Monroe Drug Co., used in general stores and pharmacies to display home fabric dyes for wool, silk, cotton, and mixed goods, with one side featuring a paper/cardboard sign and the other embossed tin. Dating to the early 1900s–1920s, the front graphic depicts General Putnam on horseback being chased by British redcoats, with advertising that promotes the dyes as coloring "More Goods than Any Other" with "less trouble, less work and no failures." It measures approximately 21" L x 8.5" W x 10.25" H.
