Description
This is a vintage framed Acme Brewing Company, San Francisco, California, Acme Beer advertising print titled "The Quest for Fortune" by artist Claude Buck (1890–1974). The still-life image, painted in 1945, was distributed to taverns and grocers and depicts California Gold Rush themed items, including a wagon wheel, a gold pan with nuggets, and a handgun, with a central antique beer stein featuring the "Acme" logo. The colorful artwork is printed on cardboard, framed without glass, and has a brass title name plate affixed to the frame, and is signed in the lower left corner. The print measures approximately 25.5" L x 19.25" H, and the frame measures approximately 28" L x 22" H x 1" D. Included is a heavy steel Acme sign above the print spelling out "Acme" in the Acme font, with brackets for mounting, possibly to a building, measuring approximately 33" L x 9" H x 4" D.
