Description
This is a 1950s Schwebel’s Toasti-Taste Bread single-sided porcelain advertising sign. The display rack sign features "Happy the Clown" graphics, which were introduced with the new "Toasti-Taste Vitamin Enriched Bread" advertising campaign in August 1951. It reads, "Come in for a loaf of Schwebel’s Toasti-Taste Bread."
This bright and colorful example retains a nice gloss and is marked "SB-195?" on the lower edge (partially obscured by the grommet). It retains all of its grommets, with the left grommet showing some pressure cracking and chipping. The field is clean with minimal scratching, while the perimeter shows light scratching with only small flea bites along the edges. It measures approximately 10" L x 7" H.
