Description
This vintage French miniature dollhouse bathroom scene features a delicate painted metal room set from the early 20th century with a hinged compartment in the back designed to be filled with water that flows through the working faucet (untested). A few dolls are arranged inside, including two bisque dolls, one bathing and one dressed for the scene, both appearing unmarked, along with a china Frozen Charlotte also known as a Penny Doll, Pillar Doll, Solid China, or Bathing Baby. This example has a glazed china front and an unglazed stoneware back marked 3/o, with the unglazed back allowing the doll to float when placed in water. The set includes a porcelain bathtub, small mirror, bench, chair, and tiny accessories such as a soap dish, soap, perfume, sponge, towels, and other small items. The metal structure shows patina and wear consistent with age and remains in great condition for its time. It measures approximately 12" L x 7" W x 7" H.
