Description
Very early Dayton Hillclimber type ladder truck in cab-over design. This steel toy features steerable front wheels, an iron driver, and a moving ladder mounted on a wooden base with wooden ladders. The ladder needs adjustment to fully extend but raises properly with a prop to hold it in place. A lead weight and gearing mechanism power the vehicle, and the bell properly sounds as the toy rolls. An extremely early Dayton, Ohio toy dating to circa 1900, it measures approximately 19" L.
