Description
Two cast iron banks. Included is a Kenton or Grey Iron Casting Co. ca. 1930s “State Bank” Regents advertising specimen architectural penny bank. Don Duer’s The Architecture of Cast Iron Penny Banks, page 23, attributes this example to either Kenton or Grey Iron and notes an advertising variation for Regent. It measures approximately 3.5" L x 2.5" W x 5.5" H. Also included is a J. & E. Stevens cast iron “Crown Bank” still bank made between 1873 and 1907; this same bank form was later produced by Grey Iron between 1903 and 1928. The Crown Building bank measures approximately 4" L x 3.25" H x 2.5" D.
