Description
Early Bernhard Paatz D.R.P.a. Modell 2 Perplex 12mm tear gas pistol, approximately 4" L. German Scheintod design from the 1920s with over/under double barrels and break-open action via left-side rear latch. Maker stamped "PERPLEX / D.R.P.a. MODELL 2" on the left frame and proofed with German Crown over U on the barrel and frame. Smoothbore pistol designed to fire SCHEINTOD 12mm cartridges charged with tobacco dust as an early pepper spray alternative. The action functions, and the Crown over U proof mark is present.
