Hopkins & Allen/Merwin & Hulbert .44 revolver. The action functions properly with correct cylinder indexing and tight lockup. The loading gate slides smoothly, and this example features nickel plating with special bone grips. The barrel serial number matches the frame. Cylinder removal is finicky and requires the barrel to rotate clockwise (from the shooter’s perspective) using the breakdown button while the cylinder pawl is depressed. Rifling is good with some pitting.
