Description

Early Remington New Army Revolver chambered in .44 caliber. This Civil War period revolver bears serial number 22201 marked beneath the grips. Oxidation and grip fit are consistent with the age of the firearm. The cylinder and hammer exhibit good indexing and proper action. The revolver is mostly in the white with pitting and retains approximately 20% of its original bluing. The barrel is marked "P" near the frame, with a "W" mark near the hammer. The cylinder is marked "E, " and an additional "E" appears on the frame near the cylinder. The brass trigger guard is marked "W." The loading lever and latch function properly and are also marked "E." The top of the barrel is stamped "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION, NEW YORK."
