The Premier Firearms & Militaria Auction
Lot 41:
Description
Colt-stamped revolver marked "44" on the left below the cylinder. The frame is not marked with Colt’s standard logo, patents, or typical markings, leading us to believe this is a period copy, pre-1900. The ejector rod has been replaced. The action functions properly with two clicks and a third rotating cylinder position. The cylinder face is marked "2" and "6." The grips appear to be period ivory with an Indian head carving inside and "XXI" (Roman numeral 21) marked. The barrel exterior is worn with only "Hartford, CT U.S.A." readable. The revolver features a 6-round cylinder with a replaced ejector tube. Condition rated poor at approximately 30%, with traces of plating remaining. The front sight is necked down at the base. The barrel is mostly in the white with some rifling present and light pitting. | Manufacturer: Unknown | Model: SA Army .44 Pattern | Serial #: 58575 | Type: Revolver | Caliber/Gauge: .44 | Barrel Length: 6.2"
Condition: POOR 30%
