Produced between 1900 and 1920 by B. Bloch (Bernhard Bloch) of Eichwald, Bohemia (present-day Czech Republic), this Majolica/Barbotine tobacco jar features a figural smoking boy. The piece retains its pyrogen match strike surface on the side of the smaller container. Impressed on the underside are model number 2431 and maker’s size mark 61. A fine example of early 20th-century Continental tobacco ware, it measures approximately 6" L x 5" W x 8.5" H.
