The Summer Discovery Toy Auction
Offered here is an unsearched estate collection of over one hundred vintage and antique marbles dating from approximately the 1930s through the 1970s. The lot includes glass, vitreous slag, and clay/pottery marbles in standard target sizes along with several large shooter marbles. Represented are examples believed to include Akro Agate, Peltier, Vitro Agate, and Master Marble. Highlights include a Peltier-style Bumblebee marble with yellow and black swirls, colorful corkscrew and patch marbles, translucent examples including one with a deep oxblood-colored patch, a white Superman or Tri-Lite style marble with bright red and blue ribbons, several large shooter marbles including orange and blue split-color examples, a fiery orange-red slag swirl, and a large milky-white shooter with a subtle green seam. Also included are an early textured clay or pottery marble, a colorful assortment of vintage cat’s eye marbles with multi-colored vanes, and numerous opaque target marbles. All marbles are being sold as found and retain an excellent overall gloss.
