The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
Eight German Heer infantry specialist figures from Lineol and Elastolin combine utility roles with standard infantry ranks. The lineup includes a field telephone/signals operator carrying a green wire spool and equipment case, a standard bearer with a removable lithographed metal Reichskriegsflagge war standard, an officer standing at attention with an officer’s dress sword, a machine gunner carrying an MG34 machine gun on his shoulder, a rifleman marching with his rifle slung horizontally across his shoulder, two marching foot soldiers with rifles held vertically, and one basic marching rifleman. The metal flag is removable from the pole. One soldier has a crack in the leg, and normal light wear from age and handling is present. The figures range from approximately 7 cm to 7.5 cm H from the base to the top of the head.
