The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
Five Elastolin German Heer cavalry figures combine combat and command roles. The lineup includes a saluting high-ranking officer on a dark bay horse, a senior commander or general staff officer wearing a distinctive dress tunic with red collar and lapel facings, and three tactical combat troopers carrying rifles slung across their backs or held at the ready. The riders are removable from the horses. One horse is missing a mounting spike, and a couple of horses have cracks in the legs. Normal light wear from age and handling is present. One horse and two riders are in very good condition, while the remainder are in good condition overall. The horses range from approximately 8 cm to 10 cm L.
