The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
Fifteen Lineol Wehrmacht cavalry and band figures combine mounted troopers with a small musical contingent. Eleven cavalry figures are mounted on realistically painted horses in chestnut, bay, dapple gray, and black variations, while four unmounted figures provide musical support with a clarinet player, a fifer playing a side-blown flute, and two marching side drummers holding drumsticks. Normal light wear from age and handling is present. A couple of horses have cracks at the legs, and one horse is in good overall condition. The horses measure approximately 5.5 cm L, while the standing miniature figures measure approximately 4 cm H from the base to the top of the head.
Condition: VERY GOOD
