The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
Twelve Lineol Italian Blackshirt Militia and German infantry figures form a mixed pre-war grouping of Italian Fascist Blackshirt (MVSN), regular army, and German military personnel. The Italian figures are divided by uniform style, with some wearing khaki-brown colonial tunics and black fezzes, while others wear black shirts with tan trousers and side caps. A single German Wehrmacht infantryman stands apart from the group in a gray-green uniform with a steel helmet and field backpack. Normal light wear from age and handling is present. One soldier has cracks at the legs. The figures range from approximately 7 cm to 7.5 cm H from the base to the top of the head. The set is in very good overall condition.
