The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
A Cold War East German National People’s Army convoy and political state vehicle grouping includes five principal vehicles along with military personnel, flags, and ceremonial elements by Lineol and La Mini Miniera. The convoy is highlighted by a large East German transport truck measuring approximately 13.5" L and towing a field kitchen wagon. The transport carries ten seated infantrymen and a blue-coated officer and is accompanied by a separate 1:43 scale olive drab IFA P3 jeep. The civilian and state vehicle group by La Mini Miniera includes a 1:40 scale red Trabant 601 with opening doors, a 1:43 scale black GAZ-22 Volga wagon, and a 1:43 scale black 1948 ZiS-110B cabriolet carrying a chauffeur and a Joseph Stalin figure. Ceremonial elements include a post-war Lineol standard bearer measuring approximately 3.25" H with an East German flag and a detached cloth USSR flag measuring approximately 7.75" x 5". Normal light wear from age and handling is present. The set is in very good overall condition.
