The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
Very elusive and unusually large for a cast iron accessory, this Hubley Toys Cable Crossing buoy has "Don’t Anchor" cast into the design. Dating to circa 1930, production was likely disrupted by the Great Depression, and this is the first example we have held. The original paint and casting have developed a nice patina, while the cast-in waves and realism are outstanding. It measures approximately 4" D. The overall condition is good and original.
