The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
A great grouping of four pachyderm-themed cast iron still banks is offered together, including a 1905-1920s A.C. Williams Elephant with Howdah in original condition, a smaller gold 1934 version of the A.C. Williams Elephant with Howdah in original condition, a gold 1910-1932 Arcade Elephant with Tucked Trunk in original condition, and a ca. 1900 small elephant manufactured by Wing. The Wing elephant is all original and closely resembles the cast used for the Ives, Blakeslee & Co. ramp-walking elephant, though this example is a still bank. The larger A.C. Williams Elephant with Howdah measures approximately 6.75" L x 3.5" H; the smaller gold version measures approximately 5" L x 3.5" H; the Arcade Elephant with Tucked Trunk measures approximately 4" L x 3" H; and the Wing elephant measures approximately 3.5" L x 2.5" H.
