The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
J. & E. Stevens Co. manufactured this paint-decorated cast iron "Crown Bank" architectural still bank in the form of a single-story financial building. The design features a heavily stepped crenellated crown finial, jagged serrated vertical corner frames, a rear horizontal coin slot above twin decorative circular ventilation windows, a bottom-access interlocking seam with a central locking tab, and an embossed arched front entryway reading "BANK" above the front steps. It measures approximately 3" L x 2" W x 3.5" H.
