The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
A 1920s American Flyer train set includes an electric cast iron locomotive, coal car, passenger cars, and some original track. The locomotive measures approximately 7" L and was not tested during cataloging, although the wheels turn easily by hand. The coal car measures approximately 4.5" L, while the passenger cars measure approximately 5.5" L. The lithography on the passenger cars remains in good condition with only minor wear and scratches. The included track shows some areas of rust.
