Description

This played-with, 90-year-old example is one of the hardest and most difficult Midget Tanks to come across. This “camo” lithography was only used for a short period in the early 1930s, adding to its striking three-gun appearance. This example has good treads, a good spring, and a respectable box, missing end flaps on one side. It comes complete with the often-missing tow hook as well. The popularity of this tank is what launched the Midget Tank line for Louis Marx. The Midget Tank was one of the longest-running toy lines that Louis Marx produced, appearing as early as 1929 in the Sears catalog and continuing production into the mid-to-late 1950s. Because of its historical background, the Marx Midget Tank was on display at The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures in Kansas City, MO. It measures approximately 5" L.
