Description
An original early 19th-century bronze lantaka swivel cannon barrel from the East Indies, dating circa 1800-1820. This one-of-a-kind example measures approximately 37" in length with a 1" bore and a flared muzzle opening to approximately 4". The barrel features extensive cast decoration and retains its integral swivel mount for use on boats or fortifications. Two ornate dolphin figures adorn the top, similar to European cannon of the period. The original wooden handle is no longer present, with only the socket remaining.
