Description
Venditti lever action pistol, a circa 1875 period copy of the U.S. Volcanic design, manufactured in Soanero, Italy. Chambered in approximately .36 caliber (9 mm), the pistol features brass and steel construction with factory scrollwork and engraving. It utilizes a lever-actuated system with a lower tubular magazine capable of holding nine cartridges and incorporates a twin extractor for early metallic cartridges. The action functions; however, the magazine spring is missing. The right grip is split and damaged, and the left grip is chipped. Crown over shield proof marks are present forward of the chamber on both sides near the top of the barrel. The barrel has turned mostly brown with minimal visible Venditti markings. No serial number was detected on the frame or beneath the grips. Only a few hundred examples are believed to have been produced.
