Description
An antique brass .31 caliber pocket bullet mold used to cast lead shot for firearms. It features a scissors-type design with handles that open and close to release the bullet. The mold includes a sprue cutter, the small arm used to trim excess lead after molten metal is poured into the cavity. Bullet molds of this type were used from the 18th century through the Civil War era to manufacture ammunition as needed and were commonly carried by soldiers for field use. It measures approximately 5" H.
