Description
Batty Brothers Peace flask ca. 1848 military rifle black powder flask, the brass body features an embossed clasped hands motif within an oval of stars symbolizing peace or fidelity, along with an American eagle above a shield marked U.S. with draped flags, swords, cannons, and bugles, produced by Joseph H. and John T. Batty for military use between 1847 and 1858 and issued to rifle regiments for carrying gunpowder, it measures approximately 10" in length, condition shows age and use with wear, see photos for details.
