This beautifully framed lithographed piece is an Exposition Brand "Sunkist Lemons" crate label packed by the Johnston Fruit Company of Santa Barbara, California. It features a reproduction of the diploma awarded at the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition in Seattle. We did not remove the piece from the frame and believe the matting covers the maker’s mark in the lower left corner. It is believed to have been printed by the Schmidt Lithograph Company between 1912 and 1920. The label retains excellent bright color and is attractively displayed in its frame. It measures approximately 17" L x 13.5" H.
