The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
An extensive reference library of 31 specialized collector magazines and publications focuses on antique toy soldiers, composition figures, and vintage tinplate dioramas. The core of the collection consists of 25 issues of the German-language "Figuren Magazin" spanning 2007 through 2013, serving as an international photo-reference guide for identifying pre-war Elastolin, Lineol, Hausser, and Tippco toys. The lot is completed by six additional collector publications and specialty trade catalogs, including issues of "Collectors Protect, " "Trodler, " "Toy Soldier & Model Figure, " "Lesen & Schenken, " and a "Spielzeugsoldaten" special edition handbook. The entire group is in clean, lightly read condition overall with minor edge wear and handling scuffs to the covers.
