The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
Gorgeous and approximately 140 years old, this Wilkins horse-drawn fire ladder is finished in pale green with yellow accents. The wheels feature hand-painted black pinstripes, while the structure retains gold highlighting. Made by the Wilkins Cast Iron Company of Keene, New Hampshire, the ladders and paint appear all original. Early flat riders are present, and the twin horses can be removed. It measures approximately 20" L.
