The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
An early Carpenter Toys cast iron wagon features twin horses and the distinctive man and woman "flat" riders unique to Carpenter. The horses undulate and can be removed, part of Carpenter’s patented design from circa 1885. The red paint on the carriage and black finish on the horses appear original, while the bench and riders are aged and without paint. It measures approximately 11" L. The overall condition is fair.
