The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
This group contains the classic "Tail Right" standing lion cast iron still banks, including a 1934 A.C. Williams small Lion Bank, a 1920s A.C. Williams schmedium-sized Lion Bank, an A.C. Williams medium Lion Bank, and a large No. 3348 A.C. Williams Lion Bank dating from 1905-1931. The large No. 3348 example retains a great gold color with red and black accents to the eyes, nose, and mouth. All coin slots are located on the head at the top of the mane, toward the back. All are original. The small Lion measures approximately 3.75" L x 2.5" H; the schmedium-sized Lion measures approximately 4.5" L x 3.5" H; the medium Lion measures approximately 5" L x 4.25" H; and the large No. 3348 Lion measures approximately 6.5" L x 5.25" H. The overall condition ranges from good to very good.
