The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
Four cast iron architectural banks are offered together, including an A.C. Williams Domed Bank dating from 1899-1934, an A.C. Williams Skyscraper Bank dating from 1900-1931, a Grey Iron Domed Mosque Bank dating from 1903-1928, and an 1891 J.E. Stevens Home Savings Bank. The A.C. Williams Domed Bank has a replacement screw. The J.E. Stevens Home Savings Bank is missing its dog head finial, and the tie rod that holds the bank together has been replaced. All are original with the exception of the replacement hardware noted. The A.C. Williams Domed Bank measures approximately 4" W x 5.25" H; the Skyscraper Bank measures approximately 1.5" W x 3.5" H; the Grey Iron Domed Mosque Bank measures approximately 4.25" L x 4.75" H; and the J.E. Stevens Home Savings Bank measures approximately 4" W x 6" H. The overall condition ranges from fair to good.
