The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
A one-of-a-kind original J.E. Stevens 1800s Mule and Jockey mule sand mold, found in the attic of the J.E. Stevens factory before its recent demolition. This original sand mold was used in the production of the ultra-rare 1800s Mule and Jockey cast iron mule and forms both the front and back sides of the mule. It is the same horse used for the Bad Accident mechanical bank, but with a ring on the nose to connect a pull string. The mold was procured from the J.E. Stevens site in Connecticut. A unique conversation piece for any toy collection. It measures approximately 13" W x 18.5" H.
