The James Gillespie Estate Soldiers & Cast Iron Toys Auction
A challenging-to-find smaller Harris cast iron Consolidated Street R.R. Trolley is marked No. 872 and features a floral design painted on each side. This well-thought-out toy uses an eccentric horse wheel to create a galloping action, while the horse and harness can be removed and reversed, reflecting how these trolleys operated in cities at the time; harness holes are present on both ends. Dating to circa 1895, it measures approximately 15" L. The overall condition is good.
