The Summer Discovery Toy Auction
This vintage iconic two-piece matching production set includes an original hand-painted animation cel and the matching animator’s production drawing featuring numerous Hanna-Barbera characters in a single scene. This comes from the 1985-1988 Hanna-Barbera crossover animated series Yogi’s Treasure Hunt and features Yogi Bear, Boo-Boo Bear, Snagglepuss, Augie Dogie, Doggie Daddy, Quick Draw McGraw dressed as El Kabong, and Nathan. The paint is sharp with no paint loss or flaking. The black outlines are on the front of the acetate sheet and are slightly raised, while the color paint is on the back of the sheet and is thick, matte, and uneven. Each layer has its sequencing and layer codes. The top cel layer is marked "HB 6 71," "1082 K 1/2," and "1/32." The production drawing is stamped "11-1082" and hand marked "HB36 K 1/2" and "1/32," with a list of sequences written in blue along the right side. The cel is not adhered to the production drawing, and the two pieces separate normally. We believe this production set is from Season 3, Episode 8 of Yogi’s Treasure Hunt titled The Greed Monster. Both measure approximately 12 3/8" L x 10 3/8" H.
