The Summer Discovery Toy Auction
This vintage hand-painted production cel of Tom Cat and an animator’s production drawing of a peekaboo Jerry is from The Tom and Jerry Show, produced by Filmation and aired from 1980 to 1982. The paint is sharp, showing loss of a couple of paint chips under Tom’s chin on his right-hand side. The black outlines are on the front of the acetate sheet and are slightly raised, while the color paint is on the back of the sheet and is thick, matte, and uneven. Each layer has its sequencing and layer codes. The top layer shows TJSTK (Tom & Jerry Stock) 103A and "30." The second layer is stapled on and has no drawing on the side facing Tom. It is marked "30" on the front and TJSTK (Tom & Jerry Stock) 22 J-73 on the back, which has a small drawing of Jerry peeking off the side of the page. The cel is not adhered to the drawing, and the two pieces separate normally. Both measure approximately 12.5" L x 10.5" H.
